Aha,…that’s a pleasant surprise.
Erika Sawajiri is starting a (real) music career! The 21 year old beauty we all (well most of us) know from Ichi Rittoru no Namida (1 Liter of Tears) sees money in it and gives her music career, which started with Taiyou no Uta, an extra boost.
The right choice? An over-rated super star?
Let’s trow in some numbers from her singing adventures last year;
Impressive indeed, and I really did like Taiyou no Uta.
It fitted her, it fitted the drama. Just perfect.
And why not, anno 2007, just continue with it?
Erika is singing under her real name (instead of the previous Kaoru Amane) and releases her very first single FREE.
Girls get older and the cute, normal girl from next-door has changed in this bad-ass act.
And I can’t say I don’t like it, it’s better then a wanna-be R&B act. The PV has just been released and,….wow it’s looking good.
But what’s up with the champagne blasting trough the screen.
I couldn’t help but laugh at the very end of the PV where the champagne splashes onto her face…..lol.
Don’t over think it.
I’m still questioning myself if this music thingy really is her….thing. She had major success with Taiyou no Uta but still….. And FREE isn’t quite making me wet my pants.
Nevertheless I’m already glad to see her back on screen again, and will support her with buying the singles.

What’s left for me to do is showing you the PV
ERIKA - FREE

where did u get her PV? =)
I really don’t think what she is wearing fits the style of music she chose to pursue. She’s wearing clothes that typically are seen on R&B acts and she’s singing typical JPop. Hmmm…
Indeed,…. I’m curious what the future will hold, and if she’ll continue with this style.

Sawajiri Erika’s last song was the chart-topping drama theme song “Taiyou no Uta”, released under Amane Kaoru, her character’s name in the drama. “Taiyou no Uta” ended up selling close to 500,000 copies, making it 20…
