I’m going … to Japan that is.
I can’t go back now, passes have been arranged, apartments have been booked and tickets are ready to be used.
I’ll be going to Japan in August, .
Leaving Amsterdam on August 01at 20:15 GMT+1 with JL412. I should be there around 15:40 GMT +9 the next day.
In the three weeks I’m there I’ll be switching from one place to another. The first week I’ll be in Tokyo and I’ll be leaving for Osaka the next week 9th of August. One week later, 16/08, I’ll be going to Hakata.
And the Japan bonanza ends 24/08.
I still have to look at what I really want to see and do in Japan. One thing has already been arranged;
a-nation on 17/08 in Nagoya.
It was either the 17th or the 10th in Kanazawa, or let me say it was either Otsuka Ai or mihimaru GT.

I went for Otsuka Ai who will be there on the 17th alongside;
TRF・Every Little Thing・倖田來未・大塚 愛・鈴木亜美・æ±æ–¹ç¥žèµ·ãƒ»AAA (Artists)
I’m also looking at paying a visit to Comiket, the world’s largest comic convention. Let’s see if I can take some nice pictures.
Talking about pictures, I’ve been thinking about doing a some sort of videoblog kind of thing over there.
I got an Internet connection over there and will be bringing my laptop, so that shouldn’t be a problem.
Two more months and I’ll be gone. For the time being I’m trying to keep my head above water pushing myself through exams and earning money …. lots of it …. for this trip that is.
If you have any suggestion for my trip leave them in the comment section, I appreciate it.

OMG go see the Studio Ghibli museum! It’s so cool =D You have to get tickets in advance. And why not go to a Cosplay Restaurant? Lol it’s definitely different. That’s all I can really think of, other than the obvious tourist attractions like Mt. Fuji. Hope that helps =]
Thanks!
I’m indeed looking at the Studio Ghibli Museum, who knows.
Congratulations! You’re a lucky individual. Did you arrange to meet anybody over there from mm-bbs?
Speaking of mm-bbs, I can’t seem to load it up. Is it down?
3 weeks! That’s a great amount of time to spend out there and the fact that you’ll be seeing different areas is amazing! You’re going to have so much fun!
I’ve only ever been to Tokyo and as for suggestions on where to go I’d just say the usual shopping areas, although Harajuku is a place that I’d really recommend some great shops (even a H!P shop), such colourful people around and if you go on a Sunday and head to the bridge leading into the park and temple you should get mix of people dressed up in the strangest fashion sense mixed with the more traditional Kimono’s as people go to the temple. Also the gardens in the park are beautiful, worth spending an hour or so walking around them.
@Chris
Yes mm-bbs is down because of hosting problems. I met Darkscorpion this morning and he’s looking at the possibilities of bringin it back up. I’m also hosted with another site with the same host,….which is also down.
@Paul
Thanks, I’ll definitely remember them.
I really want to check out a H!P Shop.
I love the video! and congrats on going to japan.
Congrats on your trip to Japan , i just envy you so much right now…..wish you the best on your trip.
Best wishes.
Thanks you guys
I’ll make sure to update everyone on the trip.

Have fun!
Thanks kevin!
Hehe the video was to test my video editing skills ;o
oh my, so it’s finally happening^^
congratz
Go see the real Japan. I was there for 3 months, alone, earlier this year. Get out from the manga shit (and this is coming from a manga/anime nerd) and meet people instead. Go to bars, go to small restaurants, talk to people. There’s way, way, way more to Japan than comic conventions and cosplayers.
Moving on, you will be amazed. It is an AWESOME country and I cannot wait to go back (not least because I now have a girlfriend over there). You will be addicted and as soon as you get back, you will want to go right back there.
You’ll love it.
Cool! I’ll definitely try to look beyond the standard stuff, ‘more then meets the eye’ I guess
Great blog you got btw, very interesting stuff.
A few little things.
1 - Don’t expect too much of Osaka. It’s a concrete jungle and frankly, I had to go through is about 4 times, and never liked it that much. Tokyo is a concrete jungle with personality - Osaka is just grey. DEFINATELY go to Kyoto for as long as you possibly can. Also go to Nara for at least a day and wander round Nara-koen. They are both a world away from drab old Osaka.
2 - Hakata/Fukuoka is awesome. You owe it to yourself to try the Raumen Stadium in the big shopping complex, the name of which escapes me, and also go to some of the little yatai (stalls) along the river at night and get some yakitori and beer, or whatever takes your fancy. You won’t regret that for a second, because it’s a slice of real Japan.
3 - While you’re in the Hakata/Fukuoka area, try to get to Beppu if you can. I think you can get there on the train from Hakata. In particular, walk up the main street from the station and have an evening meal in Jin Robata & Beer Pub. Nice place, and I met my girlfriend there (she’s a waitress/barmaid there). The place is also full of onsen and if you haven’t tried one before, this is the place to do it.
4 - In Tokyo, go to Odaiba for at least a day. The Toyota Mega Web is AWESOME and not to be missed, and the view across the bay from Tokyo Beach is pretty nice in the evening.
Just a few recommendations, though. You’re going to love it out there.
i dont know if this is usefull to you, or if youre stopping of there or anything… but theres a treehouse cafe in Okinawa =D
Yes there is. I went to it, and the food is surprisingly good for what I assumed would be a gimmick. Oh, and the tree is fake (not that you’d expect otherwise).
