- I don’t have to tell you that Naruto Shippuuden, the Hurricane Chronicles … will be coming to a screen nearby. Because you knew, right? Naruto Shippuuden is the continuation of the original animated TV series Naruto.The story revolves around an older and slightly more matured Uzumaki Naruto. According to the ad in Shonen Jump a one hour special featuring the characters with their new appearances will be airing on February 15th, 2007. I guess we could finally say this is the end to the fillers which we embraced, cursed and what else.

But hey, it’s still the 13th of January and were still at episode 216 which is entitled; The Disappearing Craftsman, The Targeted Shukaku.
I was going to put Naruto on hold, but with all this good news…….I had to blog it again. And how can you ignore an episode with Gaara and Kakashi? So before the Shippuuden hell breaks loose,…..I’ll enjoy these last fillers.

So shall we start checking out 216?
First up before the intro there’s the always cool looking Kakashi, and he brings out his badass dogs.
For some reason they have to check out Takumi Village, the creators of ‘professional missions’. They might be trying to manufacture an ultimate weapon and make the five powers (villages) their enemy. The dogs go check it out while Kakashi is reading his beloved novel. The village seems to be empty…
And that’s it for Kakashi’s appearance in this episode, let’s hope the voice actor gets the full wage. I like the guy.

Back to Naruto, because he’s still the main actor of the anime, which happen to see Shikamaru and Sakura on a bench. Hehe he interpreted the situation as a date.
It’s nothing big but Sakura still tells them that a status report from Temari has arrived at Tsunade. It seems that the Sand Village has formed a training school that mimics Konoha’s curriculum.

At the sand village their starting the training,…..
The kids have to choose a group they want to join,….of course Gaara is badass and scares everybody except one girl. There’s one shy girl who has the guts to join Gaara. As the kids choose their weapons, Gaara asks the girl her name. It’s Matsuri.
Meanwhile the Sand Village is being invaded by some weird people, I don’t think they came to party at Sand Village. Which has the image of a poor village, they oughta spice it up with some kakkoi-ness.

As Gaara walks away from the training area he sees the patrol ninja who has got his ass beaten by those mysterious people.
Those people, the Shitenshounin’s, aim for Gaara for some reason and capture Matsuri as they think that she is someone special to Gaara.
At the Jounin meeting they come to the conclusion to ask help from Konoha.

And so the message arrives at Konoha, it seems they’re going into this quite dangerous mission to help out the Sand Village which they still owe one.
‘Team return a favor’ is ready to go into the mission. It’s good to see the whole gang back again. Sakura, Shino, Neji and Hinata already left the village for this mission. They’re searching for the enemy, as Shikamaru’s gang is the attack force.
With pumping background music it’s all set,…..argh!

And then the ending theme is there to remind you that it’s only 22:49 minutes long.
Let’s say I’ll watch these ‘fillers’ as it got the whole gang back again, and it featured a glimpse of Kakashi (though it’s unknown if he’ll have a great role in these episodes).
I’ll take it,…..let’s hope we can reach that uber Naruto level again,….let this be the stair to that moment.
